"I have not had better service from anybody in my life - and that is not an exaggeration!

...  I spoke to other website designers to help me with my site, but they wanted me to do the concepts and the content and I was totally unable to do so, so never got round to it.  After speaking to me, Lyn, without saying much presented me with a website that represents my psyche, my spirit and what I stand for and do....Even the colours she chose were perfect.  The wording is excellent - as if she were a lawyer herself....   I was overwhelmed beause the website was EVERYTHING I wanted and more".... Thank you for your most professional service and phenomenal speed in setting up our web site and email addresses. From our first contact by email, when you were out of the country, to our last Skype call took less than ten days. We were up and running on our first day of business without a glitch. Your understanding of what I wanted was better I think than my own, and your Skype training course was easy to follow. I have no problem at all promoting your services.

Tips on website construction and what you should know before you start your website design

•  Start with marketing in mind. If your website is not found there is no point in putting money on design.

•  In order to be marketed your website must be Search Engine Optimised so that the search engines will find it.

•  Don't put too much "Flash" on the website because Search Engines (difficult creatures to understand) don't like too much flash... they can't seem to read it.

Don't opt for a full page picture for your front page... it is like having a locked gate at the front door of your website!

•  Don't have an "Enter Here" link on your front page (instead of content) because, once again, it is like having a locked gate at the entrance to your website.

•  Consider either learning how to market your website yourself (a big job) or engage someone to do it for you. If you have plenty of time (before the clients are knocking down your door) you could try your hand at doing the marketing yourself.

•  Choose Keywords that match words in the copy of the relevant page.

•  Make the website user friendly, not too many confusing cross-links so that people get lost and frustrated.

•  Be wary of very cheap hosting services. Often there is a reason for cheap services ("garage" operation) and you may lose your website because of hackers or the hosting service closing down. (You could lose your domain name if you can't track them down and if it has been registered in their name which is common).

•  Check how often your Hosting Service does a backup of your website (best is if it is done daily).

Your Website is like a garden

Your website is like a garden. It needs to be constructed, nutured, weeded from time to time, refreshed and attended to. In return it will reward you.

Constructing a website is a wonderful exercise; it forces you to collect you thoughts, ambitions and dreams and turn them into reality ; the wind under the wings of your business.
